New Kopel Car Import, part of the SIXT Group Romania, has signed a contract with the Municipality of Oradea for the supply of 30 electric buses (12 meters), 7 slow charging stations, and 2 fast charging stations. This is just the latest in a series of high-profile tenders won by New Kopel Car Import, such as: Bacău (48 electric buses of 12 meters, 48 slow charging stations, and 16 fast charging stations), Constanța (20 buses), Buzău (9 buses), and, for the first time in Romania, an electric bus for Cluj Airport, specially designed for airport services to transfer passengers between terminals and aircraft.
The 30 buses have a delivery deadline of 8 months and are BYD K9UD models, 12 meters in length, with a fully low-floor design and a capacity of 70 passengers (32 seated). They are equipped with air conditioning/heating systems, passenger information and counting systems, as well as video surveillance and vehicle management equipment.
